Abstract
The global burden of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) continues to rise, driven largely by unhealthy dietary habits and lifestyle choices. Public health interventions aimed at promoting healthier diets have emerged as key strategies in preventing diabetes. This narrative review explores the effectiveness of various public health dietary interventions, including population-level dietary guidelines, nutritional education programs, and food labelling regulations. It also examines the challenges in implementing these interventions, such as socioeconomic and cultural barriers, and the sustainability of long-term behaviour change. Additionally, the review highlights the potential of technology-driven interventions and the integration of dietary strategies with broader public health initiatives to enhance their impact. The findings underscore the importance of tailored, continuous efforts in public health nutrition and the need for further research to identify best practices in diabetes prevention. Keywords: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, public health, dietary interventions, nutrition education, food labelling, socioeconomic barriers, personalized nutrition, diabetes prevention
